I have kept diary pages on and off for a few years now. Some were done as page-a-day projects, some as ways of experimenting with drawing styles. Most are just random sketches and drawings that have assembled themselves at the end of a working day. Being freelance, time does pass at a different rate to normal mortals, sometimes laboriously slow but more often than not, slipping away with nothing to show for it as the years roll on.
The obvious omission here is The Goathland Diary Comic. Nine issues, 160 pages of diary comics from 1997 when I was living on the North York Moors. I recently selected and prepared 30 of the best pages for inclusion in a cult comics anthology, due out in October 2014.
